Road to Recovery

In episode #050, we discuss a topic that might be uncomfortable for some to address but is critically important to helping military veterans and first responders in our Idaho communities. Dan welcomes Brad Blair, Director of Operation Resilient Path (ORP), back to the studio to discuss overcoming substance abuse. Both Dan and Brad discuss their own personal experiences and how the program at Warrior’s Heart (a partner of Mission43) has been instrumental in getting them on a path to recovery. Addiction comes in many different forms and can have physical and psychological effects. Their lasting message is one of encouragement…don’t be afraid to take the first step towards recovery and reach out for help.

Meet our Host

Dan Nelson

Dan was a US Army Green Beret with multiple combat deployments. He is the recipient of the Silver Star, Purple Heart, and multiple other awards. After being injured in combat in Afghanistan (2017) he found Mission43. Dan fully credits the organization for his successful transition to life after the military.
