PMP Certification Course: Treasure Valley [COHORT FULL]

PMP Certification Prep Course with PMI Authorized Training Partner

Translate your military experience into project management success

Transitioning military members, veterans, and their spouses are ideal candidates for the project management profession. Your military experience translates to project management success, including leading cross-functional teams to ensure accomplishment of mission objectives, managing budgets, scheduling activities, conflict mediation, and performance appraisal. These are all key project management proficiencies.

By 2027, the Project Management Institute (PMI) estimates employers will need 87.7 million skilled workers in project-management oriented roles. Meanwhile, the shortage of qualified talent poses a notable risk for organizations that rely on that talent to implement strategic initiatives, drive change, and deliver innovation.

With your experience and a PMI credential, you can distinguish yourself to potential employers and open doors to new opportunities. According to PMI, the PMP certification can increase your earning potential by up to 32%!

Details

Mission43 has partnered with Pinnacle Professional Development, a Project Management Institute Authorized Training Partner, to provide a PMP certification course for 15 eligible members. Over 4 all-day sessions, members will be immersed in curriculum based on the PMBOK Guide®. This course covers the 35-hour PMI education requirement to sit for the PMP exam.

  • DATES:

    • Thursday, July 28th 2022

    • Friday, July 29th 2022

    • Saturday, July 30th 2022

    • Sunday, July 31st 2022

  • TIME: 8am - 5:45pm

  • LOCATION: In-person, Boise, ID.

  • COST: Selected applicants attend the course and receive one test voucher for free, but will be required to purchase memberships to PMI national and PMI Western Idaho chapters. Applicants will receive coordination instructions upon selection. Current cost estimated at $150.

  • QUESTIONS: Alison.garrow@mission43.org

Eligibility Requirements

Mission43 follows the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) basic eligibility requirements to sit for the PMP certification exam, which are:

  • High school diploma/Associate degree with 60 months non-overlapping project management experience in the last 8 years, or

  • Bachelor’s degree+ with 36 months non-overlapping project management experience in the last 8 years, or

  • If you have graduated from a PMI GAC accredited project management degree program or have the associate level project management (CAPM) certification, this can eliminate some or all of the above experience requirements

The application review committee also takes your goals and experience into consideration. This is why we ask for a direct link to your LinkedIn profile. If you do not have a LinkedIn profile, you may provide your resumé via email after applying. We encourage you to be thoughtful in your responses.

What is a Project?

Participants must be able to prove relevant project management experience in order to be accepted to sit for the PMP exam.

The good news is that project management is applicable to a wide variety of industries. PMI defines a project as a temporary endeavor, that has a definite start and finish, to create value through a unique product, service, or result. A project will have a team, budget, schedule, and a set of expectations to meet. Each project should differ from routine operations, the ongoing activities of an organization, because projects reach a conclusion once the goal is achieved.

Projects can include, but are not limited to: Software development, improving business process(es), building construction, natural disaster relief efforts, expansion efforts, bringing on a new system or updating a system, developing training material, event planning, specific marketing campaigns, and more!

APPLICATIONS ARE CLOSED

We are no longer accepting or reviewing applications for the July cohort. Look for the next available course coming soon! Mission43 members will be the first to be notified via email when applications open for the next course. If you’re not a member, join today!
