Mission43 is inviting you to be part of our statewide 9/11 Miles of Remembrance. The attacks of 9/11/2001 became a defining moment that shaped the course of our nation. We seek to honor the lives lost on that day, as well as the service and sacrifice of the military community from the ensuing Global War on Terror (GWOT) that is now nearing its twentieth year.
Sign-up to be part of a living tribute and commit to run, walk, or ruck any distance, anywhere on Friday, September 11th. Mission43 will provide supporting educational and inspirational materials about the attacks on 9/11 and the subsequent GWOT. It is our hope that you may utilize this material to guide you through your activity and to lead, learn, and be inspired. If you have already signed up, you can access supplemental material through this link.
Registration is free and open to anyone. Those who make a $10 donation will receive a Mission43 9/11 Miles of Remembrance t-shirt and swag pack in the mail to wear day-of and beyond. 100% of the proceeds from the event will be donated to Direction Through Solitude, an Idaho based non-profit committed to promoting personal growth, outdoor adventures, and stronger relationships in military families by taking Idaho veterans and their children on fly fishing trips.
Though we will not be together in person, we are together in purpose.
*T-shirts will begin shipping mid-August. Register before September 1st to guarantee delivery of your shirt for the 9/11 run

Q: How far do I have to run?
A: How far do you want to run? Traditionally Mission43’s Miles of Remembrance events offer a 5K course, but this year it is truly up to the participants when and where they choose to be part of a living tribute.
Q: I don’t run anymore, why should I sign up?
A: Mission43’s Miles of Remembrance series is not really about running. It’s not a qualifier and we don’t give out trophies or finishers’ medals. The Miles of Remembrance events, whether or not they are virtual or in-person, are about taking a moment to acknowledge and honor principles that are bigger than an individual or organization: Service, community, and sacrifice.
Q: Can I ruck or walk during the event?
A: Go for it! How you challenge yourself to remember the day, honor the sacrifice, and lead in your community is up to you!
Q: What is Mission43?
A: Mission43 is the J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Family Foundation's military veteran support initiative providing currently serving military members, former military, and military spouses in Idaho, the 43rd State, the resources for a successful transition after leaving the military. Mission43 is designed to provide Idaho's post-9/11 servicemen, women, and their spouses with the resources to excel academically, in their next career, and in the community.

Q: How do I talk to my kids about September 11th?
A: That’s a tough one, but we believe it is important. The 9/11 Memorial Foundation has some great materials and suggestions for those who are interested. Here are some ideas:
For Younger Students: Activities at Home // Live Virtual Memorial Youth Tour
For Older Students: Interactive Timelines
For Adults: Talking to Children about Terrorism
Q: Why is 09/11/2001 so important to Mission43? Aren’t you guys in Idaho?
A: Mission43 is a veterans initiative that seeks to empower military veterans and their families and enable their successful transition to civilian life in Idaho. The attacks of 9/11 started the Global War on Terror, the Nation’s longest war, and fundamentally changed the realities of military service for a generation of service members and their families. For better or for worse, Mission43’s team and the majority of its members have been directly affected by the events of September 11th, 2001, and the subsequent Global War on Terror.
