On Saturday, January 18th, Join us at the beautiful Tamarack Resort for an amazing opportunity to volunteer with the Challenged Athletes Foundation of Idaho. CAF will be hosting its Biathlon and Nordic Clinic for its athletes and they need about 40-50 M43 members to help make it a successful event.
We’ll have two separate shifts for those who want to help out:
Alpha 8:00am - 12:00pm / Bravo 12:00pm - 5:00pm
Lunch will be provided as well as drinks for the optional social hour, starting at 6pm. Volunteers are welcome to stay and play after/before their volunteer shift. Travel will not be provided, but feel free to coordinate with other volunteers on travel arrangements.
This will be the first of Mission43’s recurring volunteer-centric events in support of the Challenged Athletes Foundation – Idaho. Insert some inspiration into your long weekend, interact with Olympic Athletes, and enjoy the camaraderie of service-oriented folk!
Any questions, see coordinating instructions below or reach out to Dan Nelson: dan.nelson@mission43.org
Coordinating Instructions
Basics: Dress warm! Our volunteers will be asked to support CAF-I Clinic operations both indoors and outdoors – and it’ll be COLD! Volunteers will NOT be asked to ski, but some positions have optional snow shoeing to support the CAF athletes. We will be asked to help check-in CAF Athletes, direct participants to clinic locations, work the biathlon firing range, answer questions, and generally assist CAF Staff and athletes in whatever they need help with! If you have some moments of downtime during your shift, feel free to experience and learn about the adaptive athlete equipment – it’s amazing (Pro-Tip: Check out the biathlon rifles and targets for blind shooters).
Alpha Shift (8am-12pm): Please check in at the Mission43 Volunteer coordination table at 8am, inside in the Tamarack Lodge (follow our signs). Our volunteer service coordinator (Chad Rohr) will be there to check you in and direct you to your duty station!
Bravo Shift (12pm-5pm): Please check in at the Mission43 Volunteer coordination table at 12pm, inside the Tamarack Lodge (follow our signs). Our volunteer service coordinator (Chad Rohr) will be there to check you in and direct you to your duty station!
Food and Stuff: Boxed lunches will be provided to Mission43 volunteers. Swing by the Tamarack Lodge, follow our signs, and grab your grub between 11:30am and 12:30pm. All volunteers are invited to meet with the Mission43 Team at the Tamarack Lodge around 4:30pm (after the CAF-I event is complete) for a laid-back beverage after a job well done.
