As part of Mission43's Leaders Fellowship, participants in the program are tasked to split into four teams and develop a unique community impact project in partnership with a local non-profit organization. As groups decide the non-profit, coordinate, and plan the day of action, we then activate the larger Mission43 community to come out and support.
This group's event is a fundraiser intended to support students enrolled in the College of Western Idaho’s Basics Skills Education Program, a grant-funded program that educates a high-risk population. Funds support students working towards GED completion and English as a Second Language (ESL) skills while also covering class and test costs for under-educated individuals. There are 100 revolving students enrolled each month in this program and over 1,000 per year.
Date: Thurs, March 19th
Time: 5:30pm - 7:30pm
Location: Rudy’s Pub & Grill (3035 W McMillan Rd, Meridian)
After this fundraiser, this LF group will work in conjunction with the Travis Manion Foundation and CWI Veterans Center to present a Character Does Matter Seminar at CWI to Job Corps students and Basic Skill Education students. In culmination, the group members will also become student mentors for 6 months with monthly visits to their mentees.
