Beth Bechtel
Beth Bechtel is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Bear Island Brewing in Boise, Idaho. Beth served as a U.S. Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal technician, where her global travels ignited a passion for diverse beer styles. This enthusiasm led her from homebrewing to establishing Bear Island Brewing alongside her husband, Steve, also a Navy veteran. The brewery has since expanded into a community-focused establishment housed in a historic Boise firehouse. Under her leadership, Bear Island Brewing emphasizes service, family, and community, utilizing local ingredients and fostering relationships with nearby businesses. Beth’s journey from military service to entrepreneurship exemplifies her dedication to both her country and her community.
Derik ellis
Derik is a Air Force Veteran, visionary problem solver, leader and entrepreneur. He is the CEO and founder of Vessel with over 20 years of experience in driving intelligent growth for companies. At Vessel, he has led innovative efforts to reshape U.S. manufacturing, combining strategic leadership with a passion for delivering measurable results. Derik is committed to supporting his community through board service and entrepreneurial mentorship, leveraging his expertise to foster growth and resilience for businesses at every stage.
James McCarter
James is a former U.S. Marine and seasoned cybersecurity professional with 15 years of expertise in Intelligence-Led operations. As CEO of Shadowscape, a Boise-based intelligence-driven cybersecurity firm, he specializes in threat-based cyber operations, digital forensics, and cyber training. A recognized subject matter expert, James has held key leadership roles, including Director of Threat Intelligence and Vice President of Training. He has provided operational support and training for Commercial, NATO, and DoD/LE programs, developing and instructing courses in Cyber Threat Intelligence, SIGINT, and Technical Exploitation for both tactical and non-tactical environments worldwide.
