Military Spouse: Fuel for the Next Chapter

Military Spouse: Fuel for the Next Chapter

This interactive session equips military spouses with practical nutrition strategies to support both their own well-being and their spouse's transition to civilian life. Participants will learn how to build sustainable habits that improve energy, resilience, and overall health for themselves and their families.

Nutrition for body, brain and life

The transition out of military service marks the beginning of a new mission—one that requires
strength, adaptability, and intention in new ways. Nutrition can be a powerful tool to support that
transition, helping you build energy, mental clarity, resilience, and long-term health for both
yourself and your family.

This interactive session is designed to simplify nutrition and translate it into real-life strategies
that support your next chapter. We’ll connect the structure and discipline many veterans already
know to a more flexible, sustainable approach to fueling—one that supports performance,
recovery, and overall well-being in everyday life.

Together, we’ll explore how to build balanced meals, understand key nutrients, and recognize
how food impacts not just physical performance, but mood, focus, and stress resilience. We’ll
also examine the psychological side of nutrition, including habits, identity shifts, and how your
environment influences your choices.

Through guided reflection and hands-on activities, you’ll apply these concepts to your own life
—creating a personalized, realistic approach to fueling that aligns with your goals, values, and
responsibilities in this next phase.

You’ll leave with practical tools and a clear framework to help you move forward with strength,
clarity, and purpose—ready to fuel your next mission.

Meet the facilitator

Erin Green is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, former Professional Triathlete and coach. Her endeavors
have taken her from elite athletics to podcast host and teen mentor. Through it all, she remains an
enthusiastic voice in the sports nutrition world.

Erin graduated from the University of Idaho in 2004 with a Bachelor’s degree in Sport Science. She
quickly realized a gap exists between the field of physical fitness and nutrition and wanted to fill that
void. In 2007 she completed her Master’s in Dietetics and began her career as a Registered Dietitian
Nutritionist in many diverse settings. Over her 18 years as a practicing RDN, Erin has pursued specialties
in weight management, sports nutrition, childhood nutrition, lactation education, First Responder health
and wellness, motivational interviewing, Intuitive Eating, media relations, and brand representation. She
holds an advanced certification as a Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD).

Though she is retired from a 7-year career in professional triathlon, her involvement in sport remains
ardent. Despite competing at an elite level, Erin has a gift for translating sound, evidence-based
practices to any audience. First Responders are particularly close to her heart, as she grew up in a home
with parents as EMTs and her brothers have both gone on to be firefighters, following in their dad’s
footsteps. Her father still drives ambulance and volunteers for their local fire department in Nezperce,
Idaho.

Erin currently runs her own private practice, Erin Green Racing and Nutrition, in Boise, Idaho. You can
find her at www.eringreenracing.com, or hear her in the podcast archives for Middleish. She was named
Outstanding Dietitian of the Year for 2022 by her cohorts and serves as the Past President of the Idaho
Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
